The Handley Page Halifax has been and probably always will be looked upon as the second string to the more famous Avro Lancaster.  The Halifax built up an impressive record of it's own both as a bomber and in other roles that were never originally envisaged for the aircraft it served in the military and civil roles through the years following World War 2
